KOCHI TO KOLLAM HOUSEBOAT TRIP
A houseboat trip from Kochi to Kollam Alumkadavu is a popular tourist attraction in Kerala, India. Alumkadavu is a small village in Kollam district, approximately 120 kilometres from Kochi. The journey by houseboat is an excellent way to explore Kerala’s backwaters and experience the local people’s unique way of life.
Itinerary for a houseboat trip from Kochi to Alumkadavu is as follows:
Day 1: Kochi to Kumarakom
Check in time is 1100
Board your houseboat in Kochi from Kumabalam jetty near Ramada Hotel kochi and begin your journey through the backwaters.
Enjoy the scenic beauty of the coconut groves, paddy fields, and village life along the way.
Stop in a nearby village in Kumarakom to explore and interact with the locals.Enjoy the overnight stay near Vechoor Church in Kumarakom.
Day 2 : Kumarakom to Alleppey
Boat set sail towards Alleppey after breakfast ?. Site seeing in the kuttanad region of Kerala are known for its vast network of canals and paddy fields, often referred as Rice bowl of Kerala due to the high paddy cultivation. Kuttanad is historically important to South India and equally important as the rice producer of Kerala.
Boat passes the famous kayal nilams(reclaimed paddy fields of Vembanad lake) and reaches Kainakary Village for the night stay. Guest are invited to experience the backwater small canals in a canoe hosted by locals from 0430pm till 0630pm.
Dock in Alleppey in the evening and spend the night on the houseboat.
Day 3: Alleppey to Kayamkulam kayal
Continue your journey towards Alumkadavu after breakfast on the houseboat.Cruises pass the villages in Alleppey Kainakary, Pallathuruthy, KARIMBAVALAVU, karumadikuttan, thottapally and reach Thrikkunnapuzha around 0300pm
Stop at the Thrikkunnapuzha village along the way to see the locals’ traditional way of life.
Overnight stay near Thrikkunnapuzha lock. Situated on the banks of thrikkunnapuzha River. It is located on the banks of the Thrikkunnapuzha River, a tributary of the Pamba River. The village is known for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere, making it a popular destination for tourists seeking a peaceful getaway.
Day 4:Kayamkulam kayal to Alumkadavu
Cruise set sail at 0630am to Alumkadavu passing Kayamkulam kayal. It is a large, shallow backwater lagoon located in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, India. It is situated between the Arabian Sea and the mainland and is fed by several small rivers and canals. The backwater lagoon is a unique ecosystem that is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including several species of fish, crabs, and birds.
Arrive at Alumkadavu at 1000am in the morning and disembark from the houseboat.
