Itinerary
Just 60km south of engaged Cochin lies a space of ultimate tranquility —some of the most beautiful backwater in India. Travel to Alleppey district and hop on a traditional wooden houseboat to explore the green Alleppey, also known as the Venice of the East region of India, in full. The tour starts with a morning hotel pick up taking you to the boarding area in and around Alleppey and Cochin. Around 11am Begin your cruise of Alleppey and drift past lush paddy fields, fragrant coconut farms, quaint farming villages and more. At 12pm a delicious Keralan lunch will be served onboard—and you will get to enjoy local delicacies with the backdrop of beautiful waters escapes. At 4.30 pm the cruise comes to an end and you hop back into a comfy air conditioned vehicle for a transfer back to your hotel.
Travel itinerary: Kerala Backwater Day Cruise
On a traditional houseboat, you can see the famous backwaters of Kerala. Alappuzha, which is also called Alleppey, is near the Arabian Sea and a network of rivers that run into it.
After being picked up from the Cochin Cruise Port or a Cochin hotel, you will be taken to Alleppey, where you will board your houseboat. Slowly cruise through the backwaters and villages to see lush paddy fields, coconut palms, and other sights. There isn’t a guide on board, but there are 2 people who will take care of you and make sure you have the most relaxing time possible. Enjoy a lunch of Keralan food as you slowly sail, and then get a ride back to Cochin Port or your hotel.
